Thailand notes

Thailand has great beaches, friendly people and excellent food. A notable phrase in Thai is “sabai sabai” which means “easy easy”. This phrase captures the laid-back nature of Thailand. There are glitzy urban corridors, relaxed beaches and ancient temples in Thailand.

Bangkok

Below are some pictures from Bangkok. The first three below are from the Grand Palace / Wat Arun area.

The statue above shows a Kinaree, which is a mythical creature.

Bangkok is generally tolerant and cosmopolitan. It has an Arab town, seen above.

A typical “soi” which means an alleyway or street.

Some statues from the Suan Pakkad Palace. I believe this is Hanuman in white fighting Thotsakan in green.

Above is a scene from Thonglor, which is one of Bangkok’s glitziest neighborhoods.

Above is a view from the EmQuartier mall in Bangkok. It was also glitzy.

Phuket

Phuket is an island with great beaches. The pictures below are from Patong, which is one town with a beach in Phuket.
